Question of the month



Bow Hunting in the Endless Mountains of the State of Pennsylvania, the question for the month of April is "Would You Take This Shot" and WHY !!

All responses will be evaluated and discussed at our next Elusive Whitetail Program
and be eligible for the drawing of a Hunters Safety System Tree Stalker Vest at the B.I.G. MOE on Sunday, September 26 2010.

  1. I would not take this shot because the sholder is blocking a direct shot to the heart. It's entirely likely that you could penetrate the right sholder, spoiling some meat, but you have the left sholder coming into play blocking a pass thru of the arrow. Without an exit hole blood would pool in the cavity of the chest making finding a blood trail difficult at best. The deer would die, eventually, but it could go for over a mile presenting an easy meal for coyotes or bears.

  2. hello, I would not take this shot, as an ethical huunter, and no as a moral hunter.
    the diffrence between ethics and moral are simple, ethical says not too shoot but may take it, moral hunters would say no and not take the shot.
    this shot would only end up bad, lots of tracking.and the other comments are correct, bear or wolf bait.there is no way of harvesting this animal quickly.
